LONDON, 17 May 2023: Integrated brand and communications consultancy BLUE, specialists in the marine and renewable energy sectors, continues to expand its renewable energy client portfolio after winning global PR remits with a raft of new clients that are pioneering low carbon energy solutions.

Following a competitive tender process, BLUE secured the global PR remit for Dimeta - a joint venture between SHV Energy and UGI International - to advance the production and use of renewable and recycled carbon Dimethyl Ether(DME). This low carbon energy is expected to play a critical role in helping to decarbonise the LPG industry and benefit homes and businesses that are not connected to the gas grid.

Global fuel cell developer PowerCell Group has also engaged with BLUE for a global programme of PR activity that will span vertical sectors including aviation, marine and land-based power generation. Beginning with a launch campaign for the largest ever maritime installation of fuel cells, BLUE is working with PowerCell Group on a communications strategy and tactics that include corporate and executive positioning, content creation, media relations, digital marketing and events.

These latest clients add to BLUE’s growing portfolio of renewable energy clients, which also includes XFuels, owners of a patented technology that converts biomass waste into low-carbon, sustainable biofuel, e1 Marine, delivering fuel cell power solutions, GoodFuels, the world’s leading sustainable biofuel supplier for the global maritime industry, and Houlder, the offshore wind engineering and architects.

Alisdair Pettigrew, BLUE managing director, commented: “It’s fantastic to see our renewable energy client base building in tandem with our continued marine portfolio. BLUE’s approach is to combine the highest standards of brand PR and marketing expertise with in-depth market knowledge and a business mindset, and it’s this that sets us apart. There is a lot of green washing out there, which PR companies need to avoid, but ultimately even the most progressive low carbon economy companies are businesses that need to communicate and resonate with their key stakeholders like anyone else; our clients mean business, and we get that.”

To support its ongoing expansion, BLUE has also hired four new recruits with specialisms in PR, brand and digital marketing across its London, Oxford, and Leeds offices to service the group’s marine and renewable energy client base.

Amy Massey and Rebecca Bamford join BLUE’s digital marketing team as junior digital marketing manager and digital executive respectively, and bring experience gained from in-house and agency roles across both B2B and B2C. Caitlin Sear has also joined BLUE as senior account manager specialising in brand consultancy. Caitlin has a HND in the circular economy and a background in technology and sustainability. And Alice Goetz joins as BLUE’s first in-house marketing manager, following roles at integrated agencies over the last five years.

Pettigrew continued: “Our team has grown exponentially and we’re proud to be able to develop a new generation of communications experts that truly understand the blossoming renewables sector as well as providing best in class counsel across PR, digital and brand consultancy.”
