Who's steering? AI, authenticity, authority, and the credibility race in maritime, energy & carbon communications
21 May 2026 | 3:00 - 5:30pm | Frontline Club, Paddington
We left off our discussion on AI and its relationship with PR, brand, marketing, and communications at London International Shipping Week in September 2025, with some clear conclusions: AI lacks the judgment to replace human insight; communicators have a duty to be vanguards of credibility; and authenticity – not automation – is what algorithms and audiences reward.
That conversation was timely, but there remain many unanswered questions, and for our next event around AI and communications in specialised B2B markets, we plan to go even further.
We will reconvene BLUE’s respective team leaders, spanning PR, brand, marketing, communications and insight to explore the key questions facing communications and marketing professionals in our markets. Key questions we will ask our panel include:
How has AI changed how we communicate in our industries over the past 8 months?
How can companies bridge the credibility gap between what they claim and what they can substantiate?
Are companies equipped to manage communications in an AI age?
How can organisations build genuine credibility?
How are AEO and GEO altering the way we communicate between businesses
Is content still king?
The last BLUE event concluded by acknowledging that communicators have a duty to be vanguards of credibility and authenticity. How is this achievable?
In a world where AI can generate a confident answer about your company, your credentials and your market position – or of your competitors - without any input, who is actually steering the conversation, and how do organisations differentiate to creative credibility and authenticity?
Across the session, the panel will draw on their experience to unpack and reassemble this question.
Guests are warmly invited to continue the conversation over drinks following the panel - an informal setting to delve deeper into these themes, exchange perspectives, and explore emerging opportunities.
