Using fibre sensing, Indeximate collects backscatter data from interrogators that send light signals down fibre optic cables installed as standard in subsea power cables, enabling continuous monitoring of cable behaviour. The process generates petabytes of data - made actionable by Indeximation, Indeximate's proprietary compression technology, and surfaced as operational intelligence through their analytics platform, Scattersphere.
Offshore wind farm owners and offshore transmission owners have traditionally adopted a reactive approach to subsea power cable maintenance and failure. Each year, UK operators lose up to £20m of revenue per gigawatt of installed capacity, accepting these losses as a cost of operations, while monitoring cable conditions using only periodic ROV inspections and basic temperature alarms. Indeximate was founded to close that gap.
In six months, BLUE secured more than 50 pieces of coverage across Indeximate's core sectors, including interviews and bylines in Recharge, Maritime Risk International and Offshore Magazine. Indeximate entered the market with a clear position, an established editorial presence and the commercial conversations to match.
BLUE built the campaign around a single commercially grounded argument: that the sector's acceptance of unplanned cable failure was no longer inevitable, and that Indeximate had developed the technology to prevent it. Drawing on our offshore renewables and technology expertise, we developed core messaging positioning Indeximate as the company redefining cable health management, anchored by a thought leadership programme that exposed the limitations and costs of conventional approaches and made the case for a better solution.
That position drove a coordinated programme of corporate announcements and media engagement across offshore wind, insurance and marine publications, securing interviews and byline contributions that gave Indeximate a credible editorial voice with both financial and engineering audiences. We unlocked Indeximate's pipeline of technical content through weekly social posts and fortnightly blogs, ensuring its technology was understood as clearly as it was admired.
The announcement of Indeximate's work with RWE, a leading German offshore wind developer, was timed to coincide with a major trade event - converting a press moment into direct commercial engagement.
