Following a competitive tender process, BLUE has signed a retained contract with its latest third-sector client, the leading seafarer welfare charity, the Mission to Seafarers.

The Mission to Seafarers works in 200 ports across 50 countries to deliver direct interventions and assistance to seafarers. They support seafarers in many different and important ways, from providing material support in times of crisis, such as in cases of crew abandonment, through to helping seafarers to keep in touch with family and friends by providing WiFi and telephone access. BLUE’s remit is to help maintain this vital service by championing the work of the Mission around the world and raising awareness of how corporate organisations can help them continue to offer this assistance.

Amie Pascoe, director, BLUE commented:

“Working with a client where you’re aligned on values and clear in terms of message and goals is always a rewarding experience. With the Mission to Seafarers, we not only have that rewarding relationship, but also the knowledge that our expertise and hard work is going towards making the lives of seafarers better in a real and tangible way.”

As part of the agreement, BLUE provides some retained time as a ‘donation in kind’ in recognition of the vital work the Mission does in supporting seafarers across the globe.

BLUE’s third-sector clients also include Carbon War Room and the Sustainable Shipping Initiative.
