New online news programme commissioned by UK Chamber of Shipping aims to explore the role and value of UK shipping to the global economy

BLUE clients International®, the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office and DGS Marine Group are among a roster of shipping industry leaders featured in A Maritime Nation, a new online news programme that investigates the global issues facing the shipping industry, the UK’s heritage and standing, as well as the innovations and technology shaping the future of shipping.

Produced by ITN Productions and launched at the UK Chamber of Shipping’s headquarters in London on 3rd September, A Maritime Nation was unveiled as a precursor to London International Shipping Week (7th – 11th September 2015).

As part of the programme International® was invited to detail the benefits of its Intersleek® carbon credits methodology, the UKHO showcased its digital navigation products and services and DGS Marine highlighted the evolving marine insurance requirements of today’s ship owners.

BLUE’s senior account manager, Clare-Marie Dobing, who has been coordinating client contributions on behalf of BLUE said: “In an industry that has traditionally found it challenging to raise its profile, A Maritime Nation offers a unique opportunity for our clients to communicate the benefits of their operations not only to industry peers, but also a wider network of political, environmental and corporate stakeholders. By leveraging the programme, we aim to support our clients in generating new dialogue that will promote a better understanding of their businesses and ultimately contribute towards their wider company objectives.”

A Maritime Nation will be shown during London International Shipping Week at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London and can be viewed now on the UK Chamber of Shipping website.
