As BLUE continues to solidify its position as the leading global communications consultancy for the shipping and marine, and energy and offshore industries it continues to swell it’s ranks with experienced and effective professionals. However, it’s not just new faces joining the team – in recent months two former BLUE employees have made returns, bringing with them a wealth of experience gained across diverse markets in the interim.

Amanda Lyons joins BLUE as a senior consultant in the UK having previously held a position with BLUE in Singapore, leading communications for Chemoil, the New York Mercantile Exchange, Maersk Line and Damco amongst others. Since then she has worked as communications manager at Neptune Orient Lines before going on to lead multi-market communications programmes with agri-business giants including the dairy co-operative Fonterra and commodities company, Olam as well as running teams to raise the profile of ExxonMobil marine lubricants across EMEA during her time with Weber Shandwick in London.

Kate Astley has returned as an Account Manager after starting her career at BLUE some years ago. In the interim, Kate has developed her experience in a range of integrated communications disciplines including national media relations, product launches, digital campaigns and network engagement working with diverse clients across tech, science and the public sector including Wandera, Renaissance Learning and Zendesk which floated on the NYSE early in 2014.

BLUE Managing Director, Alisdair Pettigrew, said: “The past year has been one of success and expansion for BLUE. As great as it is to see new faces coming onboard with us, Amanda and Kate rejoining the ranks demonstrates not only our ability to attract experienced and skilled professionals but also the great work ethic and atmosphere that we’ve developed within the consultancy. In their time away both individuals have grown and developed and bring those new skills and honed ability back to do the best possible work for BLUE’s clients. We’re really pleased to see them both back again.”
