Kate Astley joined BLUE in June 2010 as an account executive, becoming junior account manager early in 2012.

In her time at BLUE, Kate has developed a strong technical understanding both of industry issues and her clients. She has an expanding portfolio of expertise and relationships within the marine and environment sector which enable her to provide well-researched, solid support to BLUE’s clients. Kate has worked on a range of successful high-profile launches, industry and press events, as well as ongoing thought-leadership, media and stakeholder campaigns across several accounts including Carbon War Room, Wärtsilä and NAPA.

Kate previously worked within the Space Science Division of the UK Science and Technologies Facilities Council as PR Assistant, gaining experience in detail-focused, technical copywriting and events management. In that role, she worked in association with Virgin Galactic and the BBC’s ‘The Sky at Night’ amongst others.  Kate holds a BA Hons in Advertising and Marketing Communications.
